From the time he could walk, Brandon was farming on a large grain farm just outside of Indianapolis, in northwestern Shelby County. To this day, farming remains one of his greatest passions, and served as the beginning of one of his catch phrases, “Country Honor,” a phrase he describes as encompassing a person’s discipline and integrity in their daily life. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree with Honors at Indiana University, Brandon was driven to use the skills and work ethic learned throughout his farming years to develop his own business, which he began in the spring of 2001. Originally buying and selling residential properties to devote his craftsmanship skills to remodels, he quickly built a reputation with local agents for producing high quality, renovated homes. As his success continued, he became increasingly frustrated with his inability to locate a real estate agent, he believed, possessed the level of genuine commitment and concern for his real estate interests.
Unable to locate the quality of agent he sought, Brandon decided to create the agent himself. In June of 2005 he acquired his Indiana Real Estate license as his first step in the next major chapter—creating his own real estate company. After a year of working for a local real estate company, and although meeting many great agents, Brandon was confident his vision and mission of quality over quantity would be successful. In November 2006 he acquired his Indiana Real Estate Brokers license and opened the doors to The Cooper Real Estate Group, LLC. Since its inception, Brandon has rejected all franchise opportunities and holds true to his initial vision of a real estate firm, and all of its agents, genuinely focused on clients, not commissions. His company’s core value is that real estate is about people, not property.
With hundreds of clients, and tens of millions of dollars in real estate sold, Brandon and his agents have proven the viability of The Cooper Real Estate Group, while never wavering in their core values—a little “Country Honor,” if you will—in their service of clients. What’s more telling of his success isn’t the number of dollars sold, but the fact that nearly every client he’s served he genuinely knows as a friend, and not through client management software, but his daily life.
While his days are absorbed in real estate, focused on people, not property, Brandon maintains the importance of people in his personal life as well. Married to his high school sweetheart with two wonderful children, he and his wife cherish every moment of their children’s young childhoods. With a deep love for the outdoors, you’ll most often find the Cooper family grilling out in the backyard, building bonfires along Buck creek, camping and backpacking in southern Indiana and the Smokies, mountain biking, golfing, riding dirt bikes, playing baseball, basketball and soccer, and fulfilling a crazy fetish for viewing all newly released children’s movies on opening day, especially at the drive-in theater! Whether it’s on the minor league ball diamonds, or the soccer fields of New Palestine, the basketball courts of Triton Central, or the Hare Scramble trails throughout southern Indiana, Brandon and his family are involved and cherish their family and friends throughout their community.
